The Recruiting Coordinator will represent Meridian Community College both on and off campus to
prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals or organizations
involved in the college selection process.
- Plan and implement recruitment activities for students in and outside of the recruiting district, as required. Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and educational and financial aid/scholarship opportunities at Meridian Community College.
- The Recruiting Coordinator will participate in various student campus tours and on-campus or off-campus events centered around recruitment activities.
- Establish and maintain positive and ongoing communications with high school prospects, counselors, career center counselors, teachers, and campus administrators via phone calls, campus visits, email, print, and other media.
- Present MCC to the public through public speaking opportunities and represent a strong, positive, student-centered college message.
- The Recruiting Coordinator will participate in Ivy League Recruiters training experience and associated recruiting activities.
- Collaborate with the College Communications offices in developing promotional materials for recruiting events and activities and in communications with prospective students.
- Assist in the delivery of orientation for incoming freshmen.
- Provide regular status reports and ad hoc reports, as requested.
- The Recruiting Coordinator will participate in after-hours events for recruiting and MCC campus life.

College for Kids Administer
College for Kids program which includes but is not limited to:

- Set up records on all classes. Develop course number and class information to be submitted for publication.
- Determine classes to offer, and the number of offerings
- Work with College Communications to create promotional material and social postings
- Secure teachers and assistants for each class
- Secure volunteers
- Set up class information and enter it into Banner
- Gather supplies for set up, classes, etc..
- Coordinate room scheduling for classes with the Facility Coordinator
- Receive quotes and purchase supplies and t-shirts
- Assist in HR with employee paperwork/background checks/contracts – Maintain all employment records for employees, teachers, and assistants for HR. Make copies and file accordingly
- Seasonal weekend work
- Other duties as assigned
Non-exempt employees typically work 40 hours which are typically logged between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday and 8:00am to 3:30pm on Fridays. Additional hours may be required to complete regular duties and/or other assignments and are compensated. The employee will need to participate in some evening and weekend events for recruiting and campus life activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Indicate understanding and passion for people of all ages
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with a diverse population
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- One to three years related professional work experience
Physical Demands
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Execute setting up and breaking down an event
