As an Adjunct Faculty Member teaching VTEC 580: Small Animal Practicum II (a 2-credit course), you will be responsible for instructing students in practical skills in our on-campus wellness clinic and at off-campus shelter locations. This course will run during the spring semester on Monday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 5:00pm, focusing primarily on small animals. You will play a key role in developing students’ competencies in veterinary practices through direct supervision and mentorship.
- Teach hands-on skills in the wellness clinic and off-campus shelter settings.
- Assess and provide feedback on student performance in practical applications.
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure alignment with program objectives.
- Mentor students in developing their technical skills and professional attitudes.

DurhamRequired Qualifications
- A degree in veterinary technology awarded by an AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) CVTEA (Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities) accredited program.
- Current certification or licensure as a credentialed veterinary technician.
- Experience in a clinical or shelter environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; teaching experience is a plus.
