Part-Time Faculty - Early Childhood Studies

Job Description

Position Summary

The Early Childhood Studies program at Allan Hancock College is seeking applications to develop a qualified pool of part-time faculty for in-person instructional vacancies. The assignment would be responsible for teaching ECS courses in person at the North County Jail. Positions may be available during the Fall and Spring semesters, or summer sessions.
 
The teaching assignment will include one or more courses offered in the Early Childhood Studies program.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

  · Provide instruction by established curriculum and course outlines.
  · Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
  · Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
  · Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
  · Teach all scheduled classes.
  · Maintain accurate records.
  · Assignments may include day, evening, or weekend classes.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/ family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education
OR
 
Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in social work, educational supervision, elementary education, special education, psychology, bilingual/bicultural education, life management/ home economics, family life studies
 
OR

Family and consumer studies.

Additional Information

SALARY:
Lecture Rate:  $65.74 to $86.44 per hour depending upon education and experience
Lab Rate: $57.27 to $75.26 per hour depending upon education and experience
Activity Rate: $37.13 to $50.62 per hour depending upon education and experience
