JOB PURPOSE
The Network Administrator is pivotal in overseeing the day-to-day operations of network systems to ensure they function smoothly, perform efficiently, and provide secure connectivity for all users. Key aspects of this role include continuous monitoring, maintenance and upgrades, performance optimization, security measures, troubleshooting and support, and documentation and reporting. This role requires a proactive approach to network management, ensuring not only the stability and reliability of network operations but also that the infrastructure scales effectively with the organizational needs while maintaining strict security standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY

JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
- Utilize tools to monitor the real-time performance and health of network infrastructure to ensure system availability and reliability.
- Schedule and execute regular maintenance to ensure network hardware and software are up-to-date and running efficiently.
- Evaluate and enforce appropriate firewall access rules to support testing and daily network management.
- Regularly monitor network security, identify vulnerabilities, and apply DISA and STIG-compliant patches and updates.
- Provide prompt support to diagnose and resolve network issues, minimizing downtime and service disruptions.
- Document incidents and solutions thoroughly for future reference and reporting.
- Document network configurations and changes using Visio to expedite issue resolution and ensure compliance with audits.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to align network operations with customer objectives.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Required:
- 4 year post secondary education, or equivalent experience.
- Juniper certification
- DoD IAT Level II certified
- This position requires an U.S. Government granted personnel security clearance at the Secret level or ability to obtain
- Travel may be required as needed
- Job Located at a U.S. Government Facility
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in network administration, preferably in a NOC environment
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills strong understanding of science, data analysis, and math
- Exceptional presentation, oral and written communications skills required
- Strong technical, interpersonal, written and verbal skills are a must
- Ability to operate effectively in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to provide direct interface with customers
- Strong task delegation, multitasking, and time management skill
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project is essential
- General understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, SSH, OSPF, IGMP, PIM, VLAN)
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field is advantageous
- CompTIA Network+ certification; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
