Salary: $2,075.12/CAH - $2,322.27/CAH

Job Summary 
The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is seeking a PT Instructor, Music  Applied Lessons 
in Jazz Voice for Las Positas College.  Applicants will be expected to provide instruction in applied 
lessons in jazz voice. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:  
 
1.Teach weekly in-person lessons each semester to music majors studying jazz voice with an 
emphasis on healthy vocal technique, song interpretation, and vocal improvisation; 
 
2.Check and respond to campus email regularly; 
 
3.Attend Applied meetings and performances each semester; 
 
4.Motivate students of all abilities and backgrounds; 
 
5.Adopt instructional techniques to accommodate various learning styles. 
 
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
Master’s in music OR Bachelor’s in music AND Master’s in humanities OR the equivalent. 
 
Evidence of understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, 
disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial and ethnic backgrounds of community college 
students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices within the classroom.

application how their academic preparation is the equivalent of the degree listed above.   
 
 
Desirable Qualifications: 
1.Successful track record of teaching applied lessons, preferably at the college level. 
2.An active performance career as a vocalist. 
3.Ability to accompany students at the piano a plus.
