Essential Job Duties

The Department of Economics in the Poole College of Management of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in macroeconomics and international economics.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain a successful research agenda that produces publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals
  • Be an effective teacher at the graduate and undergraduate levels
  • Participate in research with graduate students
  • Supervise PhD dissertations
  • Provide service to the department, college, and university

Appointment expected to begin on August 16, 2025. Applicants should hold a PhD by that date.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Requires doctor’s degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels and potential to supervise Ph.D. dissertations, as well as maintain a successful research agenda that leads to publication in top economics journals.
  • Applicants must have knowledge of the fields of macroeconomics and international economics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideal candidates will be in the process of establishing a strong record of publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, with the potential to teach graduate and undergraduate courses and supervise graduate students.
